Ultrasonic Inspection Training Course
This five
day (40 hrs.) course provides basic knowledge on ultrasonic inspection for bond
inspection, immersion, and contact of various product forms, including plate and
weldments. Emphasis is placed
on the techniques described in ASME Section V and AWS D1.1.
This course is practical in nature, utilizes classroom participation, and allows
for hands on application in the use of ultrasonic equipment for compression wave
and shear wave calibration and scanning.
Course Objectives
This course will:
-
Provide
classroom training hours in accordance with SNT-TC-1A and ANSI/ASNT CP-189
requirements.
-
Provide hands on training with
contact compression and shear wave techniques on various items.
-
Prepares the candidate for Level I and II examinations.
-
Develop practical skills needed for
practical examination.
-
Develop skills necessary to locate weld
indications using shear waves in weldments.
-
Discuss and apply code and standards
acceptance criteria.
Who Should Attend
This
course is designed for NDT technicians, welding inspectors, auditors, supervisors, managers,
engineers, quality assurance/quality control personnel,
and others who desire to improve their skills in this area.
Course Notes
All
attendees will be provided with relative technical notes and associated
reference materials.
